Jean Kaspar, 83, of Kingsland, died on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014.

She was born to Cheatham L. and Joyce (Pullin) Holmes on Oct. 19, 1931, in Three Rivers, Texas. She married Edward Kaspar on Oct. 9, 1946, in Oakville, Texas. He preceded her in death.

In 1968, the Kaspars moved to the Highland Lakes area from Houston. She served as business manager for her husband's construction business.

When the two of them were not traveling in their RV or playing in the 42 Club, they square danced with the Country Cuzzins and cherished the many friendships they made.

Kaspar was an active member of the Kingsland Community Church for over 42 years. She served as a greeter, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, president of the Woman's Christian Organization and served on numerous committees of the church. She was also a stellar accumulator for the annual church rummage sales.

As a labor of love, she hosted countless family gatherings at her home where she cooked and baked endlessly. She always considered each family member's likes and dislikes, to make sure each and every one had something special. She also baked goodies for close friends throughout the years, whether for a special occasion or just because she wanted to do something nice.

She will be remembered by many for the numerous quilts she made for all her family.

Kaspar is survived by: four children and their spouses, Dennis and Sheree Kaspar, of Kingsland, Susan and Bob Weitner, of Burnet, Tracy and Chery Kaspar, of Spicewood, and Gerald and Robin Kaspar, of Kingsland; grandchildren, KenWittenkiend, III, Matthew Wittekiend, Dr. Kris Kaspar, Tiffany Kaspar Smith, Brittney Kaspar, Nikolette Kaspar and Noelle Kaspar,  and great-grandchildren, Mattison, Mason, Zoe, Tyler, and Emily Wittekiend; Samuel and Evan Kaspar, and Brooklyn Smith. She is also survived by a sister, Patty Tackitt Ray, of Floresville, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

A visitation with family was held in Kaspar's honor on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at Putnam Funeral Home in Kingsland.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at the Kingsland Community Church with the Revs. Dick West and Jim Rose officiating. Interment to follow at the Llano City Cemetery in Llano, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers were: Dennis, Tracy, and Gerald Kaspar, Bob Weitner, Ken and Matthew Wittekiend, Dr. Kris Kaspar, Jason Smith, Tiffany Kaspar Smith and Brittney, Nikolette and Noelle Kaspar. Honorary pallbearers were named as: Cotton Ragsdale, Wes Rapstine, Alton Kuykendall, Nelson Morris and Alan Akers.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Putnam Funeral Home and Crematory, 145 Texas Avenue Texas Avenue in Kingsland.
