In what could be related incidents, at least two pharmacies were broken into Tuesday night, March 17.
Kingsland Pharmacy along RR 1431 in Kingsland and Bay Pharmacy along RR 2147 in Horseshoe Bay were both encroached.

Bay Pharmacy:
A rock was thrown through the front glass door of Bay Pharmacy, allowing entrance into the store, confirmed a Horseshoe Bay Police Department investigator at the scene. After employees did an inventory, “it appears some medications were taken,” said Garth Davis, HBPD investigator, March 18. “I don’t have a full accounting of the medications that were taken yet.”
Although the burglaries are being investigated by separate law enforcement agencies, Davis said “it would be reasonable to assume there could be a relation because two pharmacies in fairly close proximity had a burglary within a fairly short time period.”
The two incidents are not being investigated jointly, but the two agencies “are in contact,” Davis said.
The shattered glass at Bay Pharmacy was first reported to police at around 7:30 a.m., said Horseshoe Bay Police Chief Bill Lane in a statement Wednesday.
The rock used to gain entry took investigators some time to locate because it was on a store shelf. It was “something that would fit in your hand,” Davis said.
Police on scene checked other businesses in the area and all were secure.
The alarm system was activated by Davis when he entered the pharmacy through the broken door. “We did not get a report during the night of an alarm at that location,” Davis said.
Bay Pharmacy has a video monitoring system.

Kingsland Pharmacy:
Llano County authorities would not confirm if a rock was used during the break-in at Kingsland Pharmacy.
Llano County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Glen Williams said the department was “not investigating these as connected incidents.”
Williams said an alarm was triggered at Kingsland Pharmacy at about 4 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
“We were notified about the break-in by the alarm company,” he said. “The front door window was broken.”
Williams said that there were no witnesses to the crime, and would not comment on whether deputies had access to surveillance footage.
