Brian Dale Pickens, 48, of Marble Falls, died on Saturday, March 14, 2015.
A memorial service in his honor will be Saturday, March 28, 2015, starting at 4 p.m. at Blue Lake (down at the park where he held his annual Fourth of July fireworks show.)
Pickens was born May 14, 1966, the son of E. Dale and Geraldine Pickens.
He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved the mountains of Colorado to the waters of the Gulf and all in between. He was also known as one of the best fishing guides on the Highland Lakes.
Pickens was the greenskeeper at Blue Lake Golf Course from 1990 to 2014.
For the past eight months, he was living in Port Aransas with his mother.
He was the proud father of two sons and delighted in taking them fishing and hunting.
Surviving him are: sons, Blake Dale Pickens of Kingsland and Weston Robert Pickens of Irving; his parents, E.Dale and Geraldine Pickens; brother and sister-in-law,Todd and Laurel Pickens; nephews, Cooper and Tucker; younger brother, Denver Pickens, and, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother (at birth,) both his paternal and maternal grandparents, a cousin, Jeanie, and his Uncle Wade.
It was his wish for his remains to be scattered in the ocean where he use to spear fish, a duty which his son, Blake, will perform at a later date.
