A Granite Shoals man was arrested on child sex charges after an outcry was made by a minor.

Richard Edward Davis III, 34, was arrested Friday, March 27 on charge of sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony, after Granite Shoals Police said an outcry was made by a minor.

“The incident occurred here in Granite Shoals,” said Granite Shoals Public Information Officer Chris Decker. “It happened over a period of time last year.”

Decker said the warrant service that arrived to arrest Davis had a difficult time getting him to leave his residence on Phillip Ranch Road, and Granite Shoals Police Officers were called in for assistance.

Davis left his residence and was arrested without incident. He was booked in Burnet County Jail on Saturday, March 28 and was released the same day on bond of $5,000.
