H. Dale Tucker – Enough said!
H. Dale Tucker of Marble Falls died Wednesday, May 27, 2015, three days before his 88th birthday.

He was born in Dallas, Texas, on May 30, 1927, to Rufus Tucker and Sylvia Shillings Tucker. 
A 1945 graduate of Burnet High School, Dale then entered U.S. Army Basic Training in Ft. Roberts, California, and then traveled to Vienna, Austria, as a payroll clerk in the Army of Occupation.

While in the Army, Dale had earned college credits at New Mexico A&M and Texas Tech Universities. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1950 earning a degree in electrical engineering.
Dale met Vashti Smith of Marble Falls in 1947. They married in the Marble Falls First Methodist Church on Sept. 10, 1949, and completed their degrees after they married.  

Dale began his career as a concrete inspector on the Max Starke Dam. He worked for the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) for 40 years before retiring as executive director of the electrical division. 

In 2001, the Tuckers returned to Marble Falls building their lake home near Max Starke Dam. The home, with its lakeside dock, has been a favorite retreat for the family.

Dale greatly enjoyed water sports and golfing with his children and grandchildren.

Wherever they have lived, the Tuckers have been active in the Methodist church. Dale was also a very active member of the Masonic Lodge in Marble Falls and Burnet and the Ben Hur Shrine.

Survivors include: his wife of 65 years, Vashti Tucker of Marble Falls; a sister, Betty Brown of Taylor; son, Byron Tucker, MD, of Temple; daughter, Cynthia Nelson and husband, Dan, of Fredericksburg; son, David Tucker and wife, Debbie, of Bellaire, and, grandchildren, Trevor Tucker of Knoxville, Travis Nelson of Salt Lake City, Ryan Nelson and wife, Jayme, of Austin, Nolan Tucker of Houston, and Chloe and Madeline Tucker, both of Dallas.

Dale was preceded in death by: a brother, Roland, and his sister, Virginia.
A Masonic burial was held at the Marble Falls Cemetery on Saturday, May 30, 2015, followed by a memorial service at the First United Methodist Church of Marble Falls.
Memorials may be made to the Shrine Hospital for Children or a charity of choice.
