Lady Flames improve to 19-5

Faith Academy will be looking for reach the 20-win plateau Friday night when the Lady Flames travel to Concordia for a TAPPS Class 3A district contest.
The Lady Flames (19-5) won three of four games in last week’s Burnet holiday tournament, beating Class 6A Austin Akins, 4A Lampasas and 4A Burnet. The only loss in the public school tournament was to 4A Wimberley.
On Tuesday, the Lady Flames demolished San Antonio St. Anthony 56-25.
Hannah Cozby continued her solid inside play with 24 points and shooting guard Paris Brinkley added 11 points in the effort.
Cozby was red-hot shooting, making 10 of 13 shots. She tallied four points at the free throw line on seven attempts.
Faith Academy led 16-11 after one quarter and dominated in the second quarter with a 19-3 run to take a 35-14 advantage at halftime.
The Lady Flames held St. Anthony to just 11 points in the second half.
Nine Lady Flames scored in the game.
