Area firefighters responded Monday night to what Marble Falls Fire & Rescue Chief Johnny Caraway termed a “significant fire” in Pecan Valley.
“The resident at 1102 Live Oak Drive was able to get out safely,” he said. “The fire started about 9:45 p.m. and our first call indicated people were trapped in the fire, which turned out not to be the case. There were no injuries, but the home was about 50 percent destroyed.”
The Marble Falls Area Volunteer Fire Department and Horseshoe Bay Fire Department also responded and the scene took until about 1 a.m. before all was cleared.
“All in all, we have been lucky this holiday season,” Caraway said, adding, “Except for one small fire just before the holidays, this was the only serious fire and the resident is safe.”
