Jack Edward Caylor

Mr. Jack Edward Caylor of Victoria, Texas, born on Sept. 7, 1930, in Jasper, Texas, to Chester and Lottie Caylor went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at the age of 85 years.

Jack retired after 34 years with Exxon.

His hobbies included fishing, gardening and hunting and he attended Faith Family Church.

Those who knew Jack were aware of his deep love and devotion to his wife of 65 years, his fond affection for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his unwavering faith in God.  

Although he will be greatly missed, his family has been left with a legacy of love that far surpasses any grief felt by his absence.  

Our father built his life on things eternal and is now holding onto God’s unwavering hand.

Jack is survived by: his wife, Dorothy Kirkland Caylor; children, David Caylor and wife, Kathy, of Victoria, Mark Caylor and wife, Billie, of Victoria, Robyn Pinson and husband, Jeff, of El Paso, Gregory Caylor and wife, Rebecca, of Houston; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Carl Martin of Normanna; sisters-in-law, Geneva Caylor of Kingsland, Glenrose Venable of Waterson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Lottie Caylor, siblings Ralph, Bob, CA, Arthur, Harold and Maxine.

The family received friends Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, 3304 East Mockingbird Lane, in Victoria, Texas, with a 3 p.m. graveside burial service to follow at San Geronimo Cemetery, 1620 East Walnut Street in Seguin, Texas.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of South Texas - 605 E Locust Avenue, Victoria, Texas, 77901.
