Robert Lee Glover

Robert “Bob” Lee Glover was born Dec. 16, 1940, in Van Zandt County, Texas, to Leo and Adene Glover.

He passed away peacefully surrounded by family Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at the age of 75 years.

Bob graduated from Kountze High School in 1958 and earned his Master's Degree in Education from Sam Houston State College in 1969.

Upon graduation he began teaching vocational agriculture and taught at Huntsville High School and Katy High School.

In 1985, Bob joined the Texas General Land Office where he served in many capacities including Director of Land Management until his retirement in 2003.

Bob enjoyed flying, boating, sailing, fishing, NASCAR, gardening and restoration projects.

He was a great friend and mentor.

He loved visiting and helping family, friends, neighbors and people in the community.

His passion was encouraging and motivating young people to fulfill their purposes in life.

Bob greatly impacted the lives he touched, was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Bob was preceded in death by: his parents, Leo and Adene Glover, and, a brother, Phillip Glover. He is survived by: his wife of 47 years, Kay Glover; daughter, Terri Roewe; son-in-law, Randy Roewe; granddaughter, Shannon Roewe; four Godchildren, Julie Dautrich, Jill Durst, Jana Stewart and Ryan Jordan; brothers, Don Glover and Wade Glover, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

The family held a celebration of life service Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. at Chapel of the Hills Baptist Church, 19135 E Hwy 29, in Buchanan Dam, Texas.
