Horseshoe Bay City Council omits two segments from annexation
By Emily Hilley-Sierzchula
The Horseshoe Bay City Council at its meeting Jan. 19 voted to remove two segments previously under consideration for annexation, after hearing arguments from citizens during the two required public hearings on the matter.
Included in the regular city council meeting agenda was the second public hearing on annexation, which lasted about 10 minutes.
The council voted unanimously to remove from consideration more than 90 acres of the Krumm Ranch, which is owned by one person and has more than 300 acres located in the Cottonwood Shores extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ).
The acreage, within the Horseshoe Bay ETJ, was within Area 1 of the annexation plan.
In a separate motion, the council voted unanimously not to annex properties within the Overlook subdivision, within annexation Area 4, because of the strength of community-wide protections already in place, according to council discussions.
Council members will decide at the Feb. 16 council meeting, at 3 p.m., on properties within Area 2 along CR 311.
