Quilts on display this weekend

Quilts of all shapes, sizes, colors and patterns will be on display this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 12-13, when the Marble Falls Quilt Club hosts its 5th Biennial Quilt Show at Lakeside Pavilion, 307 Buena Vista in Marble Falls.

“Made in America” is the theme for the to be carried out in some of the 90 quilts on display, but most especially the donation quilt that will help raise funding for the club's programs, among them: scholarships for local high school students, Anti Ouch Pouches for Breast Cancer patients, Threads of Love quilts, Learning with Quilts for school libraries and quilting promotions in the community.

Show hours will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day and, in addition to the 90 quilts on display, there will be the club boutique, a silent auction, vendors and “Bits and Pieces.”

The Marble Falls Quilt Club consists of over 90 members from all over the Highland Lakes. It is a nonprofit and members participate in a variety of community service activities, gathering once a month at the First United Methodist Church. The club has planned programs, a “Show and Share” time, as well as special projects in which members can participate.
