Heather Alice Levert

Oct. 3, 1969~March 9, 2016

 

Heather Alice Levert, of Spicewood, Texas, was called home suddenly to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at the age of 46 years. 

 

Her sudden departure has left her family and friends shaken.  

 

Heather was a devoted wife and mother, a daughter, sister, teacher and a friend to many people.

 

She was born on Oct. 3, 1969, in San Antonio, Texas, to John and Helen Layton.  

 

Heather is survived by her devoted husband, Chad, and their beloved children, Jake, Camden, Brooklyn and Vance. 

 

She also leaves behind her mother, Helen Layton of Marble Falls, and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Kimberly and Gary Nave of Buchanan Dam, and Tonya and Bill Couser of New Braunfels.  Additionally, she will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, Kari, Emily, Jason and Zachary along with her uncle, Joe Goebel and his wife, Gracie, and her aunt, Flo Moore, and many cousins. 

 

Heather was preceded in death by her father, USAF (Ret) John C. Layton, Jr.

 

Heather graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in San Antonio and then received a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Southwest Texas State University in 1996.  She was the first one in her family to earn a degree.  

 

Heather met the love of her life in 1989.  Chad brought fun, laughter, and lightheartedness to her life. She was his anchor.  

They married in 1998 and had four amazing children together who were the center of her world. 

 

Prior to starting her family, Heather spent four years teaching elementary school in Lockhart and Pflugerville.  

She left teaching to dedicate her life to raising her family.  

 

They were the most important thing in her life and she loved them with every ounce of her being. Heather was very involved with her kids’ school activities and volunteered in many ways. She served on the PTO, helped with classroom parties and field trips, assisted in fundraising activities at both Spicewood Elementary and Marble Falls Junior High, and taught Vacation Bible School at her church.  

 

She also taught PreK at Bluebonnet Preschool before serving as a preschool teacher at her own church, St. Peter’s Lutheran. 

Throughout her life, she made many extraordinary friends. 

 

Her caring personality and beautiful soul personally touched many people.  

 

Heather was strong in her faith and found peace in knowing she would be with her Savior one day.  

Her favorite verse was Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

 

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at 2 p.m at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Marble Falls.
