Anson Hahn, left, and Doug Hart rehearse a scene from “A Little Off the Top,” the new comedy opening April 21 at Hill Country Community Theatre in Cottonwood Shores.

Tickets are now on sale for the Hill Country Community Theatre (HCCT) production of “A Little Off the Top,” a comedy that promises hilarity from April 21-May 1.

The play centers around Steve and Jerry, two lonely balding bachelors who find a perfect toupee to attract women. The problem for both is money. Desperate for hair, they throw in their resources to purchase a used toupee with a plan to take turns wearing it.

Never mind it was repossessed from an owner who died, their confidence soars.

With two bald men and just one toupee, things get a bit hairy for Steve and Jerry, said HCCT director Mike Rademaekers.

The play was written by Carl L. Williams. The veteran Houston playwright has won numerous competitions for full-length and one-act plays. His play “Under A Cowboy Moon” was produced at HCCT in 2007.

Reservations can be made by calling 830-798-8944, online at www.theHCCT.org, or at the theater box office from noon-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for students with valid ID.

The HCCT is located at 4003 West Farm to Market Road 2147 in Cottonwood Shores. Performances, April 21-May 1, will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and in 2:15 p.m. matinees on Sundays.
