A reported robbery suspect is dead while Llano County Sheriff's Deputies and a Texas DPS Trooper are unharmed following a shooting incident between the two on Wednesday evening.
Texas DPS officials confirmed that on Wednesday, April 13, at about 5:07 p.m., a Texas DPS Trooper made a traffic stop on a motorcycle traveling westbound on TX 71, east of County Road 305 in Llano County. The operator of the motorcycle was a suspect in an ongoing criminal investigation.
“According to the preliminary investigation, the motorcycle operator raised a semi-auto pistol and did not follow commands to put the weapon down. A DPS Trooper and Llano County Sheriff's Deputies fired their service firearms,” DPS officials said in a release Thursday morning.
The suspect died at the scene. The identification of the suspect is pending notification of kin, which DPS officials said may be located in Louisiana. The incident remains under investigation by the Texas Rangers and Llano County Sheriff’s Office.
