Open house for Horseshoe Bay planning set for May 11

Horseshoe Bay residents who missed the Long Range Planning Committee open house May 3, have a second opportunity today, Wednesday, May 11.

The event will take place from 3-5 p.m., again at the Quail Point center, 107 Twilight Lane. The goal is to guide the future of the city of Horseshoe Bay through the opinions of citizens and the ranking of priorities they will provide at the events.

The goal of the Long Range Planning Committee to insure every resident has an opportunity to learn the issues the committee has identified for the future of Horseshoe Bay.

Those issues will be arranged in five different categories: Land Use Recommendations, Community Services, Economic Development, Urban Infrastructure and Technology and Environmental recommendations. Each category will each have a table for attendees to visit to critique each issue. On arrival they will receive five “Sticky Dots” to be placed on their top ranked issue in each of the five general categories.

Many of the results of the committee’s recent survey will also be available. This survey conducted both on-line and locally available paper ballots generated a total of 1,326 responses from the community. A response of this size should generate a reliable statistical base.

The open house will be “come and go”, informal and refreshments will be served. All residents are encouraged to attend to help plan the future of the community.
