The Texas Hill Country is well known for tasty peaches, so the Pedernales Fire Department (PFD) Auxiliary is having loads of them delivered to the fire station for a fundraiser this summer.

For $50, you can order a case of delicious Texas peaches to pick up in mid-July at the PFD Station No. 1, located at 801 Bee Creek Road in Spicewood. Order the 20-22 pounds, carefully packed, one of the following ways:

· Call the Auxiliary at 512-496-3092 and leave a message

· Go online to the www.pfdauxiliary.org “Peaches” page

· Send a check for $50 to PFD Auxiliary, with “Peaches” on the memo line and your name, address, phone number and email, to PFD Auxiliary, 801 Bee Creek Road, Spicewood, TX 78669.

Peach cobbler, peach ice cream, peach jam, peach pie, peach tarts, peach salsa, and other creations are some of the possibilities. Funds raised will support new radio purchases for the PFD. Orders are due by Wednesday, June 15. The Auxiliary will notify all purchasers of the exact delivery date for pick up.

The PFD Auxiliary organizes events to encourage community participation and to raise funds for the fire department. Funds last year purchased a water collection system at fire station No. 1. At present, the Auxiliary provides two major fundraising events each year, with an annual barbecue/music event in the fall and a seafood event in the spring. The Auxiliary also welcomes outright contributions. To find out more go online to www.pfdauxiliary.org.
