Karen N. (Kauppi) LeBlanc, 72 years old, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, in Marble Falls.
Karen grew up in Ironwood, in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
She then enjoyed time in California, New Hampshire, and finally settled in the Texas hill country.
Karen was born Oct. 20, 1943, in Ironwood, Michigan, a daughter of Walter and Margaret (Rowe) Kauppi, and attended the Ironwood area schools.
Karen was known as a wonderful singer.
She enjoyed reading, writing, listening to music, and caring for her cats.
She also loved birds, flowers, and plants.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her mother Margaret (Rowe) Kauppi; her sister Cristine (Kauppi) Wolff and husband Bruce Northup; her two children Adam LeBlanc and fiancé Jennifer Cerney and his children Bradley and Erica LeBlanc, and Tracey (LeBlanc) Collins and husband Jake Collins and their four children Jackie and Brendan Collins and Katherine and Michael Coble.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Kauppi.
The family would like to thank Mary Christian who provided assistance and friendship over the past few years.
They would also like to thank the entire staff at Granite Mesa Nursing Home in Marble Falls for the wonderful care, concern and personal attention they provided Karen and her family.
A private ceremony is being planned.
