Kenneth ‘Ken’ Melvin Antley passed away at home in Marble Falls on Thursday, May 5, 2016.
He was born on May 21, 1957, in Texas City, to Morris Melvin Antley and Melba Wiggins Antley.
He graduated from Lamarque High School where he was an All State football player.
He earned an associate degree from ITT Tech and was employed by Fluid Balance International.
Ken's interests included collecting guns and knives, riding motorcycles, and watching sports.
He was often found working on such projects as building a canoe and a boat.
Having grown up near the coast, he was happiest when he was on the water fishing and boating.
He was a grill master known for steaks, ribs, brisket, and his most favorite, shrimp.
Ken enjoyed attending Round Rock Express and Texas Ranger baseball games with family and riding motorcycles with friends.
He spent every holiday with family.
Ken was truly man's best friend to his dogs Bud, Miles, Bingo, and Chester.
Ken was preceded in death by his mother Melba Wiggins Antley and his sister Vikki Antley McDonald. He is survived by his wife Bronna of Marble Falls; his father Morris Melvin Antley of Texas City; sons Kaleb Antley wife Meredith of Dickinson, Texas, and Shane Antley wife Hannah of Emmet, Arkansas; brother Sam Antley wife Carol of Lockesburg, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Ken will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 4.
A Celebration of Life will follow the service at Cedar Breaks Park in Georgetown, Texas.Donations in Ken's honor can be made to American Legion Post 62, 419 W. Crawford, Denison, Texas 75020 or to American Legion Riders, Post 134, 1700 Edmiston Drive, Crockett, Texas 75835.
