Richard “Dick” Gilmour, 68, beloved husband, Dad, Papa, brother, and uncle entered Heaven on Sunday, April 17, 2016.
Dick was born on June 28, 1947, in Long Branch, New Jersey, to Jack and Regina Gilmour.
Dick served in the Army Reserves after graduating from Notre Dame with a masters in electrical engineering and worked for IBM for 29 years.
Dick was a Bible teacher, little league coach and served on the Investment Board for Camp PenieI Christian Ministries, served as the School Board President of the First Baptist Church Christian School in Marble Falls, and served on a board for Harmony School of Creative Arts. Dick has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
After John 3:16 the Bible verse close to his heart was, "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving glory to God the Father through Him".
He is survived by his wife of 40 yrs. Burla Jean "BJ" Hawthorne Gilmour; son, Christopher Gilmour, grand daughter, Aurora Gilmour, brothers, Jack and Mark Gilmour, sister, Susan Gilmour, brother-in-laws and wives, Kelly and Trudy Hawthorne and Skip and Svetlana Hawthorne and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dick was proceeded in death by sons, Daniel and Timothy Gilmour; parents Jack and Regina Gilmour, and brothers Jeffery and Craig Gilmour.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Marble Falls.
Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. the same day at Post Mountain Cemetery, Burnet.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 28 at Edgar & Jenkins Family Funeral Home in Burnet.,
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dick's memory to the First Baptist Church Christian School, 901 La Ventana, Marble Falls, Texas, 78654, Camp Peniel; 6716 E FM 1431, Marble Falls, Texas 78654 or Harmony School of Creative Arts 1503 Mormon Mill Rd.
