Community members who are interested in serving out the unexpired term for Place 7 on the Marble Falls Independent School District Board of Trustees are encouraged to apply for the position through the district's website.

Board members agreed during a regular meeting Tuesday, July 19, to accept forms of interest from interested citizens up to a deadline of 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2. The form of interest can be found on the district website at http://marblefallsisd.org.

“The board will then evaluate and appoint a trustee to Place 7,” said Marble Falls ISD Superintendent Dr. Chris Allen. “We will have a special called meeting Aug. 4, at which time the board will select a trustee.”

The appointee will fill out the unexpired term of Dr. Kelly Fox, who resigned from the board last month as she is moving out of the district. The appointment is only valid from August 2016 to May 2017. An election is required to fulfill the remainder of the term from May 2017 to May 2018. The candidate selected will be sworn in at the regular board meeting on Aug. 29.

The form includes several questions that candidates must answer, including:

If appointed, do you intend to run for election in May 2017? Yes OR No

Please list your previous involvement and service to Marble Falls ISD:

Please list any other community involvement:

Why do you want to serve on the Marble Falls ISD Board of Trustees?

What other unique qualifications for the position do you have that you would like to share with the Board?

Candidates are asked to limit their responses to a few sentences for each question. A one to two page resume may be provided in addition to this form of interest, but is not required. Completed forms should be returned to Julie Shaffer at jshaffer@mfisd.txed.net.
