Two men were arrested early Wednesday morning after a theft from Puffy's pawn shop led to a police chase through Marble Falls.
Bao Huvn, 25, was charged with evading arrest with a vehicle and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, both third-degree felonies. His alleged cohort, Aaron Anthony Barron, 25, of Austin, was charged with aggravated assault against a public servant, a first-degree felony and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a third-degree felony.
Cottonwood Shores Municipal Court later added charges of engaging in organized criminal activity, a third degree felony, and burglary of a building, a state jail felony for Barron.
The two men were arrested after an alleged police chase that began in Cottonwood Shores and ended in the eastern edge of Marble Falls.
The incident began Wednesday, Aug. 17 shortly after 4:30 a.m. when dispatchers received report that a business alarm was sounding at Puffy's jewelry and pawn shop in the 4200 block of Farm to Market Road 2147 in Cottonwood Shores.
According to a Burnet County Sheriff's Office release, deputies arrived at the store to see a white passenger car backed up to the front door with the trunk open. As deputies approached, the vehicle fled the location and headed east on FM 2147. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver didn't pull over.
“During the chase, one of the vehicle occupants displayed what appeared to be a handgun and pointed it toward the officers,” the release stated.
