Bertie Rea, age 81, passed away around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016.

She was born Bertie Evelyn Barrow on March 5, 1935 and grew up in and around Round Rock and Georgetown, Texas.

Bertie was an amazing cook, gardener, seamstress and crafter.

After nursing her husband Kenneth Rea through a lengthy illness until he preceded her in death in 2013, Bertie began to have health issues of her own.

She was treated for lymphatic cancer and beat it.

However, she never got over the side effects.

Bertie is also preceded in death by her parents, Henderson and Bertie Barrow; two brothers, Jewell and Reese; four sisters, Rena, Gladys, Mary Corse and Mable Johnson.

Survivors include one brother, Arthur Barrow of Florida; four sisters, Severa Heidel, Bess Boyd, Violent Boyd and husband J.T., all of Kingsland, Texas.

Also surviving Bertie are her son, Bruce Rose and wife Faith of Georgetown, Texas and daughter Pamela Lawman and husband John of Pasadena, Texas; four grandkids, Heather Beran and husband Chris of Nolanville, Texas, Chris Rose of Austin, Texas, Mark and Alan Lawman of England, and four great grandkids, Jacob and Casey Lawman of England, Nicholas Howe of Georgetown, Texas and Sarah Beran of Nolanville, Texas.

A memorial will be held at a later date.
