Louise Smith Trussell of Horseshoe Bay, Texas and formerly of Falls Church, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Sept. 20, 1930 in Washington, D.C. to Clifford F. and Helen K. Smith and was raised in Arlington, Virginia.
Louise was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, as well as the Gamma Delta Chapter of Phi Mu sorority at American University.
She served as President of the Northern Virginia Women’s Social Club from 2003-2004.
She also volunteered in the White House and worked as a docent at the Smithsonian’s Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Museum in Chantilly, Virginia.
Louise was a devoted wife and mother.
She enjoyed needlework and reading and had many fond memories of time spent traveling the US with her late husband.
Her home was always full of music, which was one of her great passions.
She was a proud member of The Church at Horseshoe Bay and sang alto in the chancel choir.
Louise is survived by her daughter Sheryl ‘Sherry’ Anderson and Bruce Anderson of Horseshoe Bay and her son William ‘Bill’ Trussell and Ann Trussell, and granddaughters Kelly and Lauren, all of Schnecksville, Pennsylvania.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Art, and her parents Clifford and Helen.
The family would like to thank the staff of Granite Mesa for their tireless patience, professionalism, love, support, and dedication to Louise’s care.
A memorial service is planned at The Church at Horseshoe Bay on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m.
