Molly Myrick returns for Lady Mustangs basketball team.

Marble Falls girls’ basketball players showed a lot of eagerness Wednesday for the first day of University Interscholastic League workouts.

Thirty girls opened the morning workouts at 6:15. The group included freshmen through seniors.

“All the kids did a great job of showing enthusiasm,’’ first-year Marble Falls coach John Berkman said. “They were ready to go and work hard.’’

Berkman said he plans to carry “12 to 13 players’’ on the varsity.

“Everybody that we have is going to play and contribute,’’ Berkman said. “If they are on the varsity they are going to play.’’

The Lady Mustangs will hold workouts through Tuesday and then will shift to some after school workouts. This Saturday they will be working out from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Berkman said the team will add some more players when cross country and volleyball concludes.
