David Hugh “Bubba” Woods Jr.

David Hugh “Bubba” Woods, Jr., 53 of Johnson City, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Bubba was born on Feb. 10, 1963, in Austin, Texas to David Hugh Woods, Sr., and Carolyn F. (Rodgers) Woods. He grew up in Buda and graduated from Johnson City High School. After graduation, he started his 35-year career with Pedernales Electric Company as an operator. He married Lisa Samford Painter on January 11, 2013 in Johnson City, Texas. Bubba is preceded in death by his parents David Hugh, Sr. and Caroyln Reynolds.

Bubba is survived by his wife; Lisa Woods of Johnson City, his daughter; Stacee Jo and Amy Nicole Woods both of Johnson City, step-daughters; Serna Lynn, Sarah Jean Painter both of Johnson City and Shayla Celeste Painter of Fredericksburg, sons; Kelan Meade and McKennon Wayne Painter of Johnson City, sister; Linnea Weatherly and husband Michael of Angleton, Texas.

Visitation was held on Monday, Oct. 24 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City, Texas. Services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at noon at Community Church of the Hills in Johnson City, Texas, with burial to follow at Post Oak Cemetery, in the Post Oak Community.

Pallbearers will be Bret Bible, Marshall Varret, Junior Pedella, Cory Thompson, Luther Schumann, Michael Weatherly and Steve Brown.
