Victorious Mustangs open with 73-point outburst
Josh Mobley scored 20 points in opener for Mustangs.
The Mustangs boys' opener was filled with energy and quality basketball. The Mustangs had a great opening and even a better finish to take a 73-68 win over Georgetown East View at Max Copeland Gym. Next up is a Thanksgiving break and then the Mustangs will be back on the court Nov. 29 for a home date with the rival Burnet Bulldogs.
East View is the same team that the Mustangs defeated last season for Marble Falls’ first district win in three seasons.
The Mustangs had excellent guard play from Zachary Spruill (23 points) and Josh Mosley (20 points) and also added spark from the frontcourt of Andrew Stripling, Deering and Cade Jarvis.
The big different was tightening the screws on the rebounding down the stretch and the ability to hit clutch free throws.
