A celebration of the life and legacy of Beverly T. Smith will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, starting at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 909 Avenue D, Marble Falls.
Beverly was born to Earl and Azalene Turner in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Nov. 29, 1928. She grew up in Baton Rouge, and after graduating from high school, married Robert “Smitty” Smith in August 1946. For 35 years she was an “oil field” wife, following Smitty on domestic assignments in Texas, Colorado and California, and internationally in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. She made many friends in their travels and was able to visit some 20 countries.
She was a lifetime homemaker, cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her first priority was always her family, especially her three children and their spouses, and eventually her five grandchildren and her nine great grandchildren. They have always been a great joy in her life and she in theirs.
Beverly is preceded in death by Smitty, her husband of 68 years. She is survived by daughters and son-in-laws Donna and Jim Fatheree and Sherry and Paul Wehner and a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Nancy Smith. She is also survived by her five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Beverly Smith’s memory be made to one of the following: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, or Trinity Episcopal Church, 909 Avenue D, Marble Falls, TX 78654.
Arrangements are under the direction of Edgar & Jenkins Family Funeral Home in Burnet.
