Marble Falls boys’ soccer team is ranked No. 7 in the region by the TSSCO preseason rankings.
The Mustangs will open their season on Friday with a 7 p.m. match against san Marcos at Mustang Stadium.
Mutang captains this season are Gavino Tinajera, Anthony Machuca, Christian Ammons and Tino Dominguez. The Mustangs are coming off a 13-7-4 mark from last year when they finished fifth in the district, just missing the playoffs.
“San Marcos is another 6A school that we just do not know much about,’’ coach Rick Hoover said. “I have never played them and since they are 6A I haven’t followed them over the years. But it is my understanding they should have a very good team this year.’’
So far, the Mustangs have shined in scrimmages.
They have three wins and tie in scrimmages. The Mustangs mark in scrimmages includes:
3-2 over Pflugerville
1-0 over Austin Crockett
4-1 over Austin Reagan
