Friday night’s battle in Kerrville was supposed to be a battle with the winner clinching the playoffs with three games left to play. It was a lopsided battle.

The Kerrville Tivy Lady Antlers delivered a few shots to the belly Friday night and came away with a big 55-41 victory over the Lady Mustangs at Tivy High School.

No. 10 state-ranked Tivy now stands in the drivers’ seat to win the District 26-5A crown.

The Lady Mustangs were hoping to take that spot, but now Marble Falls is jockeying for playoff position.

Despite the loss, the Lady Mustangs also clinched with Boerne Champion losing to Dripping Springs on Friday.

The Lady Mustangs are in the playoffs for the first time since 2010-2011.

The four playoff teams from District 26-5A will likely be Tivy, Marble Falls, Seguin and Dripping Springs.

Tuesday’s battle between Marble Falls and Seguin at Marble Falls is huge in the seeding. The winner should solidify second place.
