Euda Tucker Raley

March 29, 1912 ~ February 6, 2017

Euda Tucker Raley, 104, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 6, while sleeping in her home.

Euda left her mark on the temporal earthly plane as a daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great- grandmother and friend to many.

Over 104 years and 11 months of life, she saw many changes from riding in covered wagons to trains, automobiles and airplanes, and endured significant historical moments like World War II, the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl and 18 different Presidents.

Born March 29, 1912 in Loco, Oklahoma and raised in Duncan, she met and married Frank Raley on June 10, 1934.

They lived in Oklahoma, Canada and San Francisco before settling in Kermit to raise their family.

They formed special bonds and built lifelong relationships with many in the booming oil community.

It was there that Euda developed a reputation as a pioneer, and always one to help others.

Folks knew Euda could fix things and find things!

Upon Frank’s retirement in the early 70’s, they moved to Marble Falls to enjoy time with their family and friends.

Avid supporters of their waterskiing family, they traveled around the US watching their kids and grandkids compete.

Their motorhome was a place where all the skiers gathered to see if Mrs. Raley had any extra fried chicken, fried okra or beans and cornbread (and she always did).

Euda loved sewing, telling childhood stories and spending time with family and friends.

Euda loved the Lord, her family, many friends and Fellowship Baptist Church.

She was known for her big smile, her big heart and her amazing attitude to live life to its fullest.

When Euda renewed her driver’s license at age 100, she told the officer that she would see him in 2 years, and indeed she did.

Preceded in death by her husband; Frank, Euda is survived by her son; Robert “Bud” Raley (Patty); daughter Carolyn Edwards (Jerry); five grandchildren Chet Raley (Sherry), Trinda Burl (Mike), Bret Raley (Angie), Russ Edwards (Barbara) and Rick Edwards (Kim); nine great-grandchildren Zach, Justin, Tyler and Cara Burl, Marisa Raley, Tucker Edwards (Jenn), Jordan Edwards (Mary), Collin (special friend Abbey) and Jared Edwards; three great-great-grandchildren Daniel, Henry and Rose Edwards and many close friends.

Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 11 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 2702 Mormon Mill Rd, Marble Falls.

A graveside service will follow at the Marble Falls City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made and designated to the Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund.
