Paint the Town offers ring-side seats on art

Highland Lakes Creative Arts is offering directions to top locations to observe artists capturing bluebonnet scenes during the Marble Falls Paint the Town event.
Paint the Town, a plein air, or open air, competition March 30 – April 1 will host 40 artists from around the country to capture the scenes of Marble Falls and you can have a ring-side seat.
Texas bluebonnets are a topical favorite and you can pack a lunch and a lawn chair and watch their artworks magically appear. Organizers of the event from Highland Lakes Creative Arts suggest looking for artists at work at these prime locations:

Bella Vista B&B--1455 Cimarron Ranch Road--off Ranch to Market Road 1431 east on Lake Travis. (Charming country inn with beautiful vistas.)

Max Starcke Dam—Max Starcke Dam Road south of Marble Falls off US 281 dead ends near the dam & artists will set up on either side of the road (Water, rocks, beautiful views.)

Living Architecture—4113 Lakeview Drive in Cottonwood Shores is accessed by traveling west from US 281 on Farm to Market Rod 2147. At the traffic light turn in to Cottonwood Shores and go straight to Lakeview Drive, and turn left to find the grounds and home at Living Architecture (Striking architectural features and vistas on 13 acres.)

Demonstrations during all of Paint the Town

On Friday, 25 middle and high school students will paint alongside artists at Lakeside Pavilion, 307 Buena Vista Drive.

Friday, 7-9 p.m., all registered artists are invited to the Paint the Town Nocturnal Paint Out at selected nighttime locations for their focus, with all of the artwork displayed in the Wet Wall Gallery at Lakeside Pavilion for judging and sale.

On Saturday, from 1-3 p.m. on historic Main Street an 80-minute Quick Draw event will be open to anyone and all ages to paint with the artists and have immediate easel sales.
“Paint the Town is a true collaboration between our community, our city and 'the arts' (the organizations nomer for Highland Lakes Creative arts) to offer many opportunities for all to experience art and creativity from nationally recognized artists,” said Carolyn Bates, founding board member.
