Wanda Friudenberg Martinez

May 23, 1943 ~ March 22, 2017

Wanda Friudenberg Martinez died on Wednesday, March 22, at her home near Granite Shoals, surrounded by immediate family members.

She was born in Marlin on May 23, 1943 to Frank and Lillian Friudenberg of Falls County.

She is survived by three daughters; Saundra Marek (Joe) of Rosebud, and Elizabeth Clark (Jeffery) and Robin Williamson of Marble Falls.

She was predeceased by her husband; Felix Martinez and her brother; Robert Knapik.

She is survived by brothers; Gene Friudenberg and Fred Friudenberg and sisters Perna Reaves and Mary Lee Duncan.

She also is survived by eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Martinez moved with her immediate family to Marble Falls in 1966.

For 40 years she was employed with the Marble Falls school district appraisal office, which became part of the Burnet Central Appraisal District.

She volunteered for various Baptist church activities, as well as with SPCA, Habitat for Humanity and Respite Care.

Because family was of utmost importance to her, Martinez and her daughters organized the first Friudenberg reunion, held near Tumlinson Hill in Falls County.

She joined her brothers and sisters at annual reunions for Lott High School.

Her ashes will be placed near other family grave sites at the Clover Hill Cemetery, Lott.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, at the Granite Mountain Baptist Church, 500 FM 1980, Marble Falls, conducted by Pastor David Hartwig.

Memorial contributions may be made to charities of choice.
