The fifth annual Shake, Rattle and Crawl off-road event will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23 at Hidden Falls Adventure Park, 7030 Ranch to Market Road 1431 East.

Dawn Judson of Bikini Offroad in San Antonio puts her passion for off-roading into the benefit for the Parkinson's Foundation.

Participants can drive the scenic trails and hills of the Hidden Falls Adventure Park in their ATVs, jeeps, motorcycles and trucks. The family-friendly event will feature a scavenger hunt, live music and dinner.

Judson began “Shake, Rattle and Crawl” in honor of her late father, who lived with Parkinson’s Disease, a progressive disorder of the nervous system that affects movement. Her efforts, combined with the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, have raised more than $16,000 for Parkinson’s research since 2013.

The foundation mission is investment in promising scientific research to end Parkinson’s and improve the lives of its sufferers and their families through improved treatments, support and care.

I’m proud to team up with the Parkinson's Foundation each year,” said Judson. “We hope our fifth annual event helps bring us one step closer to a world without Parkinson’s.”

The event will go on rain or shine, and advance registration is not required. Participants check in at the park pavilion to pay only regular park admission, $25 and $15 per additional family member. Part of that money goes to the foundation but other funds come from the purchase of drawing tickets for great prizes donated by off-road equipment vendors.

Check-in starts at 9 a.m. and the first event, a beginner's run will begin at 10 a.m. A poker run starts at 10:30 a.m. and a scavenger hunt, at 1 p.m.

Dinner goes on from 4-9 p.m., with Ryland Edwards performing live. After prize drawings and entertainment, hardier participants will make a night run in the park. Those who just can't get enough of the parks challenging trails can overnight for more fun on Sunday.
