James Michael “Sandy” Sandstedt Sr.

August 30, 1934 ~ June 2, 2017

Sandy was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on August 30, 1934. He passed away on June 2, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

He and his wife Anita had moved to Granite Shoals, Texas, in 2003 from San Antonio to enjoy their retirement. He loved living his retirement years there. He was never a fisherman but enjoyed waterskiing and boating. Many a morning he would sit out on his deck with his one cup of coffee enjoying the sounds of nature and all the animals.

Sandy is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Helen Sandstedt, and his sister Linda Shumake. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anita; son, James Michael Sandstedt Jr. and wife Julia Sandstedt; two grandchildren, Kenneth Edward and James Michael III; as well as his four legged children, Max, Peppa, Neal and Lil’ Bit.

The family will be having a celebration of life, at a later date and time in San Antonio. Family and friends will be notified. Condolence messages can be left at www.meadowlawn.net.
