Clayford “Clay” Ryan White

Clayford “Clay” Ryan White, 67, of Leander, passed away at Seton Medical Center in Austin, on Monday, June 12.

Clay was born in Wichita, Kansas on January 31st, 1950 and was soon after adopted, along with his sister Julia, by Frank and Norline White.

He graduated from Minneapolis High and after a brief stint in college he joined the U.S. Navy on May 1st, 1969 and served for 20 years.

While at training camp he met the love of his life, Judy Marie Turri, and they were married in Memphis, Tennessee on August 1, 1970.

They spent 43 glorious years of marriage together.

After leaving the Navy he moved to Austin, and worked for a variety of technology companies, finally retiring from DPS in 2015.

Clay was passionate about religious studies and earned a Master’s Degree in Theology from Creighton University.

Clay is survived by his daughter Melissa White; sons Matthew and Brian White; sister Julia McClure; grandson Jackson White; his daughters in law Chelsea and Ari White, and many loving members of his extended family.

Clay shared his infectious sense of humor and caring heart with all those around him.

Funeral services for Clay will be a St. Paul the Apostle Parish in Horseshoe Bay on Saturday, June 17 starting at 10 a.m.

Clay will be laid to rest at the Lakeland Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Burnet.
