Johnny Darrell Ray

January 30, 1955 — June 29, 2017

Johnny Darrell Ray of Cottonwood Shores, formerly of Burnet, was born January 30, 1955, in Burnet. He passed away June 29, 2017, at the age of 62.

He was preceded in death by his mother Nellie Jo Hamilton, grandmother Lena Cude, cousin Randy Robertson and uncle Denver Hinds.

Johnny is survived by his wife Marsha Jess, son Leslie Ray and wife Sarah and their children Spencer, Carly and Jackson; daughter Skeeter Ray DeLeon and husband Zack and their children Carter and Hayes; his father Mac Hamilton and wife Carol; his brothers Ronnie Ray, Gayland Hamilton, and Stacy J. Hamilton. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

Visitation was held Monday, July 3, at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home at with Reverend Jerry White officiating. Interment will follow at Burnet City Cemetery.

Following the graveside a gathering will be held at the Hamilton Creek Apartments Community Room, 805 S Water, Burnet.

Those serving as pallbearers are Ronnie Ray, Stacy J. Hamilton, Gayland Hamilton, Kevin Compton, Elmer Owens, and Kory Compton. Memorial contributions in memory of Johnny should be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to your favorite charity or organization.

Arrangements were made by Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet.
