Billy Jack (BJ) Reed of Meadowlakes passed away Aug. 29, 2017. He was born on June 21, 1937, in Evant, Texas, to Haskell Marion and Mary Michael Reed.

BJ is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Sue (Machen) Reed, and his children, Connie Ottis (Kelley) of Three Rivers, Texas, Travis Reed (Michael Kriethe) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Kristi Canaday (Jim) of Leander, Texas. He is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Ottis, Joseph Ottis (Meredith), Conner Canaday, Katy Canaday and Lillian Kriethe-Reed, as well as great-grandchildren Hudson Ottis and Leighton Ottis, sister Pamela Reed of San Marcos, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

BJ was preceded in death by his parents.

BJ was a member of First Baptist Church of Marble Falls and was a member of the Hope Sunday School class. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a 32nd degree Mason.

A Celebration of BJ’s life will be held Friday, Sept. 1, at 11 a.m. at The First Baptist Church of Marble Falls.
