Kiwanis car show set for Saturday

Cars of every make and vintage fill the street at the annual Marble Falls Main Street Car Show, scheduled in this 16th year for 8:30-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6. Admission is free for live Dixie Land jazz and car lovers dreams.
Dixie Land jazz will fill the air in the first four blocks of Marble Falls Main Street as Saturday, Oct. 7, as visitors stroll through best in the classics—cars that is.
It is the day from the 16th Annual Main Street Car Show, put on from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. by the Marble Falls Kiwanis Club.
“Antique cars, new cars, sports cars, pick-ups, hot rods, you name it--we are expecting a wide variety of cars from all over Central Texas,” said Jack D. Sargent, event coordinator. “We invite you to register your own entry or just to mark your calendar and plan to spend some time on Main Street.”
Businesses will be open for shopping and car owners will be on hand to discuss their pride and joy entries in the contest as the live band performs.
The event is free for visitors and entries are just $25 per car, with online registration available at www.marblefallskiwanis.org. The first 100 to register receive goody bags with dash plaques commemorating the show, tee shirts and plenty of information about the city and its businesses.
In the early afternoon prizes will be awarded to the top 10 cars.
