Floyd Allan Stephens

d. December 30, 2017

Floyd Allan Stephens, 70, passed away on December 30, 2017.

Floyd was born in Flint, Michigan, but passed away being a Texan. While in the service of the United States Air Force, he was stationed all over the world, the last being in Texas. Floyd loved Texas and set his roots here. He loved to explore many areas of Texas from El Paso to East Texas. Floyd shared Texas with his family and after many trips, he and part of the family, finally settled in Marble Falls.

Floyd was a man of many interests. Floyd’s first love was electronics. He worked in the electronics world, primarily with fire alarm security systems. But easily could teach his skills, as he did when he taught a class in Marble Falls, called Mr. Fix It, a small appliance repair instruction for the public.

Floyd also was a great teacher to those of us that needed to learn computers. Floyd was an avid amateur radio operator and made connections and friends all over the world.

Floyd was a devoted reader of a wide variety of book styles and would easily read a bag of books a day. One that stood out for him was a book about the history of the Central Texas area. This book brought the early Texas travel, living and agriculture to life for him. Floyd would share his new knowledge with anyone who would listen.

Floyd loved the outdoors. He loved to fish and tied his own flies for fly fishing, while exploring the back country of Texas. He loved to share this with his friends and family during camp outs or hiking to the perfect fishing hole. He was an amazing gardener, with a green thumb, that yielded tomatoes in the green house, in December.

For his family the memories of all the adventures he lead and his shared interests, gives us the bond of family and the eternal love that we have for Floyd. Floyd enriched the lives of us all.

Rest in Peace, Brother.

Arrangements under the care of Edgar & Jenkins Funeral Home, Burnet, Texas.
