Lavada Jeanette Helton

January 15, 1935 — December 18, 2017

Lavada Jeanette Helton, 82, of Marble Falls, passed away on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017. She was born to the late William Cross Hogan and Bonnie Lee Houck on Jan. 15, 1935, in Wheeler, Texas.
Lavada was a proud 1953 graduate of Mobeetie High School, excelling in academics and basketball. Lavada's passions were her family, friends, and quilting as a member of the Marble Falls Quilting Club. She married Bobby King Helton on July 3, 1953, in Mobeetie, Texas.

Family and friends were Lavada's passion and delight, with a special deep adoration for her seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Lavada was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marble Falls and an active participant in the Hospitality and Creative Hearts Ministries.

Lavada is survived by her husband, Bobby Helton; daughter Sharla Boles and husband Rodney, sons Steven Helton and wife Stacy; Mike Helton and wife Connie; seven grandchildren, Lauren Hepler, Jillian Boles, Jennifer Helton, Bailey Helton, Megan Helton, Jacob Helton, and Jaclyn Helton; and two great-grandchildren, Graham and Liam Hepler. She also leaves a sister Wilma Miller; brothers Ed Hogan, Glen Hogan, LaWayne Hogan, and Gaylon Hogan. Lavada was preceded in death by brothers Calvin, James, and Don Hogan.

Visitation was held Thursday, Dec. 21, at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home, Marble Falls, Texas. Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church of Marble Falls on Friday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. Burial will be on Thursday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at the Gageby Cemetery, Hemphill County, Texas.
