Michael “Kevin” Thompson

Michael “Kevin” Thompson, 50, of Meadowlakes, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018. Services will be held at 11 a.m. with visitation and viewing from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Marble Falls Church of Christ. Kevin was born on May 24, 1967, in Dallas, Texas, to Jerry and Claudia Thompson. He spent most of his childhood in Clarendon and later moved to Andrews in 1982, where he graduated high school and was a member of the golf team. Kevin eventually ended up in Dallas where he worked at a local golf course while attending school at The Art Institute of Dallas. It was there he followed in his father’s footsteps and began his longstanding career in the golf course business. His 30+ years in the industry took him to Arizona, Oregon, Hawaii and back to Texas where he lived the past 11 years. His accomplishments were many including the renovation and construction of two Jack Nicklaus-designed courses in Arizona. In addition to his professional accomplishments, his passion was helping others and his love for his family and the Church.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Thompson; grandparents, Clifford and Ruth Thompson; and grandmother, Loree Hammit.

He is survived by his daughter, Kali Thompson of Meadowlakes, Texas; his wife, Shanna Thompson of Meadowlakes; his mother, Claudia Ayers of Meadowlakes; and his sister, Tonya Harmon of McKinney, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, a fund for his daughter, Kali, has been setup at the First State Bank Central Texas.
