William Henry Otte

January 21, 1934 — February 7, 2018

William Henry Otte, born Jan. 21, 1934, passed from this life on Feb. 7, 2018, at the age of 84 in Marble Falls, Texas.
Services are scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Highland Lakes Seventh Day Adventist Church, 6642 RM 1431, Granite Shoals, Texas. Interment will follow at Richland Springs Cemetery at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11.
William (Bill) H. Otte, aka, “Sweet William” grew up in Voca, Texas. He was born to James William Fritz Otte and Lillie Sarah Region Otte Womack.
As a young man, Bill Otte served in the United States Navy during 1956-1957, touring the world aboard the USS Hector. He lived a busy and productive life, working with El Paso Natural Gas Company for many years, becoming self-employed in Farmington, NM, and finally settling in Central Texas, enjoying life on the shores of Lake Buchannan. Bill was always tinkering with engines, wood working, home remodeling, fishing, boating, entrepreneurship, and various engaging projects, while displaying generosity of spirit. He was an artist in his own right and created wooden heirlooms with care and precision, always striving toward perfection.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Nelda Gatewood; brothers A J Otte and Elroy Ottel and grandson Jason Otte.
Bill is survived by his wife, Lillie Bell Justice Smith Otte; and six children, son Kim and wife Mary, daughter Tanya and husband Tommy, daughter Cindy and husband Ken, son Ronnie, daughter Donna, and daughter Carol; as well as 18 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and siblings: Mrylene Glasco, Outher D. Otte, Shirley Reinke, and Christine Fuentz.
