Visit CAMPO open house today
The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) is inviting the public to attend an open house for the 2019-2022 Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) and the Regional Arterials Study, from 4-7 p.m. this evening, Monday, April 2, in Marble Falls.
Citizens concerned with the outcome of planning for streets, roads and highways have these opportunities to get in on the ground floor to participate in recommendations for the Texas Department of Transportation.
CAMPO is working with local governments and regional agencies to develop a Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the area. The 2019-2022 TIP is the four-year program that lists all federal funded transportation projects in the six-county CAMPO region, in addition to state funded and regionally significant projects.
Also,CAMPO is developing a Regional Arterials Plan to provide mobility choices that are safe, convenient, reliable, and efficient. Arterials are roadways that connect to freeways, local streets, and destinations.
Online open houses also will be available at www.campotexas.org from April 2-30. All comments are due by 5 p.m., Monday, April 30. Also online, a complete schedule of meetings is listed.
All 15 on-site open houses will be held from 4-7 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
They include a combined event Monday, April 2, at the Marble Falls Public Library, 100 Main Street.
Others nearby include arterial study meetings Tuesday, April 3, at the Lago Vista Public Library, 5803 Thunderbird Street in Lago Vista and Thursday, April 5, at the Allen R. Baca Center Meeting Room #3 located at 170 North Gabriel Street in Round Rock, and another combined event on Tuesday, April 10, at the Georgetown Public Library Friends Room, 402 West Eighth Street, Georgetown.
The public also is invited to attend a TIPS public hearing at 6 p.m. Monday, April 9, at the CAMPO Transportation Policy Board Meeting to be held in the Thompson Conference Center, 2405 Robert Dedman Drive in, Austin. Free parking will be available at the southwest corner of Red River and Dean Keeton.
