James Elwood Jackson

August 5, 1944 — June 19, 2018

James Elwood Jackson, a long-time resident of Marble Falls died peacefully on June 19, 2018, after a battle with lung cancer at the age of 73.

James is survived by his son Cecil Jackson of Marble Falls; three grandchildren, Dylan, Dalton, and Devon Jackson, all of Marble Falls; and one great grandson, Caelum Perez of Marble Falls. He is also survived by four brothers, Larry, Gary, Terry, and Woody Jackson; and one sister, Sherri Mitchel.

He is predeceased by his mother and father, Lillie and Elwood Jackson, and his brother Jason Jackson.

James was born in Travis County, Texas, Aug. 5, 1944. He joined the Marine Corps in 1966 where he served four years. He was a rod buster, building power plants for over thirty years. James was an avid fisherman. He loved being in the outdoors with his friends and family. He also enjoyed Native American artifacts, searching for arrowheads and making tools and weapons for hunting out of arrowheads. He was loved by many. Always the life of the party, his smile was contagious. He will be missed by many.

He will buried with honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas, Tuesday, June 26, at 2 p.m.
