Marian S. Pawlik of Marble Falls, Texas, went to be with our Lord on Friday, June 22, 2018. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, on Feb. 15, 1939. She attended St. Gerard’s Grade School and High School. She married the love of her life, Al Pawlik, on June 25, 1955.
She and Al were charter members of Holy Name Catholic Church in San Antonio. Her family moved to Austin in 1970 and in 1973, she started a 27-year career with the Department of Public Safety. She retired in 2000. She and Al relocated to Marble Falls in 2004 for their retirement years. She served as a Den Mother in the Cub Scouts, a Girl Scout Leader, a religion teacher at her church, and did volunteer work for both Meals on Wheels of Austin and St. Vincent de Paul Society for numerous years. She was also a member of the Prayer Blanket Ministry at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Marble Falls.
She loved gardening and working in the yard alongside her husband. She loved to crochet and spend time with her grandchildren. She loved to travel, especially to casinos with both family and her friends, the “Gamblin’ Grandmas.”
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Elizabeth and Henry Schmidt; and brothers, Ronald and Leonard Schmidt. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Al Pawlik, of Marble Falls; her children, Alvin Pawlik Jr. of Austin, Dale Pawlik of San Antonio, Mike Pawlik and his wife, Cherie, of Cedar Creek, and Kristi (Pawlik) Dominguez and her husband, David, of Harker Heights; along with nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Visitation and rosary will be held at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, on Tuesday, June 26, at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls. Funeral service will be at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 27, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
