Doris Lazelle Lentz
September 3, 1932 — October 1, 2018
Doris Lazelle Lentz left her earthly life and entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Oct. 1, 2018. She was born Sept. 3, 1932, to Edgar and Emily Walden at the Walden farm in Jollyville, Texas, Travis County.
Doris will be remembered for her mercy, kindness, and generosity. She had a love for Jesus Christ and a passion for introducing people to the path of the Lord. She was a dedicated prayer warrior and soul winner who led her husband, Bud, to the Lord after 13 years of prayer for him. At that time he joined her as a member of the First Baptist Church in Kingsland, Texas. Doris taught Sunday school classes for many years and lead prayer groups in her home. She had a passion for studying the Bible and learning scripture.
Doris, nicknamed Tootsie, married Bud in 1949. In their early marital years, they lived in Jollyville and San Marcos, Texas. In 1960 the home building boom in the Highland Lakes brought them to Buchanan Dam and then to Kingsland. They raised their three children in these areas. They were married 40 years before the Lord called Bud home, at the age of 59. Doris, at the age of 86, has now joined her beloved husband.
Doris is remembered as a caregiver, caring first for her husband, Bud, and then her mother, Emily, who both had terminal illnesses. Her daughter, who is a nurse, remembers the high quality of nursing care and compassion that her mother delivered.
After the death of her husband, Doris owned and operated Germania Insurance Agency in Kingsland for 35 years before retiring in 2002. She was a productive citizen of the Kingsland community for 50 years.
Doris was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bud, and her brother, Royce Walden.
