Faith Academy Football's season will continue at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 as they travel on the road to play Amarillo San Jacinto Christian Academy in the first round of the six-man football playoffs.

The Flames, who play in TAPPS Six-Man Division 1 District 2, finished their season in fourth place at 2-3 with an overall record of 3-7. They scored 289 points while allowing 478. They ended their regular season with a 76-64 slugfest victory over Round Rock Christian Academy.

The San Jacinto Christian Academy Patriots play in the TAPPS Six-Man Division 1, District 1. They finished 6-4 overall and 3-3 in district (for third place). They scored 496 points to their opponents' 368 points.

Faith Coach Pete Wentrcek said his team has focused on the idea that the football season starts on Saturday.

We are practicing and playing at a higher level than we have all season,” he said. “Amarillo has some good athletes in their running back and quarterback/spreadback. However, we feel we are able to match up well. They have some size up front but we feel we can counter that with speed.”

Wentrcek addedthat the Patriots' offense is a balance of a tight Wing-I and a Diamond Spread.

They are balanced in their run/pass attack,” he added.”
