Mary Kathryn York Ware, known to all as Kathy, passed away on November 10 of internal complications at home with her family present.

A funeral Service was held Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Jenkins Funeral Home, formerly Edgar Funeral Home, Burnet, Texas with interment following at Burnet City Cemetery.

She was born on June 24, 1933 in Burnet, Texas to Charles and Maude York. She had a 40-year long nursing career and helped deliver many babies in Burnet County. Her passion was cooking and baking. Kathy catered many area events and helped her husband Charlie at their BBQ place in Burnet. She belonged to 1st United Methodist Church of Burnet and believed in Jesus Christ. Kathy was a dedicated mother and loved family gatherings, especially the laughter and humor. Her family relied on her for advice and respected her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers.

She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Lee and husband, Frank Lee of Houston; children, Mike Ware and wife Ronda, Karen Sooter, Jerry Ware and Eric Guatemala; grandchildren, Charlie Ware, Clint Ware and wife Kassie, and Kadi Sooter, as well as seven mischievous great-grandchildren.

A reception at the Highview Retirement Village in Marble Falls was held after the burial.
