Cynthia Ann Price, 52, of Kingsland, Texas, courageously finished her fight on Nov. 18, 2018. She was born to Joanne Pothurst on April 3, 1966, in Rancho Cardova, California.
Cynthia enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 20 with the brave desire to serve her country. She earned a National Defense Service Medal, Southeast Asia Service Medal and many other ribbons recognizing her loyalty and bravery. She was also recognized as an accomplished M16 Rifle marksman. While enlisted, Cynthia obtained an education in traffic management and worked for six years as a management coordinator. Following her honorable discharge, she remained a soldier at heart and became a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10376, in Marble Falls, Texas.
Cynthia was vibrant and creative. She loved to do arts and crafts. From the ribbon streamers dancing from halos attached to the entryway celling to the vibrantly painted walls, her home shined with her unique touches. One of her unique pieces of art was a picture frame that she embellished with colorful cat-eye marbles. This photo, along with many others of those she loved, graced each wall of her home.
She loved her family and considered her children to be among her greatest achievements in life. She cherished each moment spent with them. Though they lived far away, they were always in her heart.
Cynthia’s courage, vibrancy and fighting spirit glowed most brightly in her most difficult days. Her cancer diagnosis was a hard blow, but it didn’t get her down. She went to each chemotherapy treatment with her head up and shoulders back. As her family struggled with the news of her disease, she was their strength and light in a dark place. She light-heartedly laughed and teased to put others at ease.
Cynthia’s vibrant glow of strength, courage and love will remain in the hearts of her family. She was a soldier who courageously fought battles of various forms and smiled in the face of fear. She will be remembered for each beautiful and personal touch left behind in her home and our hearts.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Price of Kingsland, Texas; son, Brandon Bloxom of Reno, Nevada; daughter, Sarah Bloxom of Reno, Nevada; brothers, Bobby Layton of Oregon, and Tommy Layton of San Diego, California and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
