Carolyn Faye Pabst

July 23, 1944 — December 27, 2018

Carolyn Faye Pabst, age 74, of Rochelle, Texas, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 in Brady. She was born July 23, 1944 in Burnet, Texas, to Fred Hunziker Jr. and Dollie (Caddel) Hunziker. She married James Clayton Pabst on Feb. 22, 1968 in Laredo, Texas.

She has lived in the Brady area since 1987, moving to Brady from Kingsland. She was a caregiver for Jordan Home Health for several years. She was a cashier at Wal*Mart in Brady for over ten years and was a custodian for the Rochelle ISD for 17 years, retiring in January of 2011. She loved her flowers, yard work and country music. She was a member of the Hillbilly Hits Fan Club and enjoyed volunteering at the Heart of Country Music Museum. The love of her family was the most important thing in her life.

Funeral services for Carolyn Faye Pabst were held Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Pastor Mike Callison officiating. Interment followed at the Rochelle Cemetery in Rochelle. Friends may view Carolyn’s Memorial Video Tribute and/or sign the online memorial guest book at leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com. Pallbearers were Rufus Beam, Tommy Mendez, Tracy Pitcox, Charlie Walton, Jamey Williams and Steve Butler.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Ronda Banta of Marble Falls, Texas, Luann Penny of Rochelle, Texas, Claylene Gossett and husband Gary of Rochelle, Texas, Shauna Pabst Timms and husband Ray of Rochelle, Texas, and Sheryl Mendez and husband T.J. of Brady; son, David Meyer of Brady, Texas; brothers, Dorman Hunziker and wife Barbara of Burnet, Texas, Darrell Hunziker of Burnet, Texas and Don Hunziker of Burnet, Texas; sister, Edith Rider and husband Henry of Tococca, GA; grandchildren, Paige Meyer, Clayton Meyer, Hollie Zapata and husband Rick, Elissa Banta, Claylene Meyer, Shaylene Gossett and fiancé Michael Morris, and Amber Brown and husband Josh; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Clayton Pabst, three sisters, twin infant brothers and son, Terry Meyer.
